Zoo Animals

Zoo Idaho offers patrons a chance to see the animals they didn’t see at Yellowstone Park including bears, bison, deer, elk, cougars, coyotes, eagles, owls, and more! Patrons especially enjoy the close encounters they can have with the zoo's grizzly bear who exhibits many natural behaviors in her expansive setting. Our indigenous species zoo houses numerous orphaned or injured animals from the region who would have died in the wild. Zoo Idaho is truly a zoo for Idaho's animals.

Zoo Idaho's Mission

CONSERVATION AND EDUCATION
Zoo Idaho is dedicated to preserving intermountain west wildlife and habitat through conservation and education. It plays a crucial role in raising awareness about the importance of wildlife preservation.

REHABILITATION OF NON-RELEASABLE WILDLIFE
The zoo provides a home for non-releasable wildlife that would otherwise struggle to survive in the wild. This helps in maintaining biodiversity and preventing the unnecessary loss of animal lives.

PARTNERSHIP WITH IDAHO FISH AND GAME
The collaboration with Idaho Fish and Game ensures that Zoo Idaho is aligned with state wildlife management efforts, contributing to the overall well-being of Idaho’s wildlife.
